Story
My name is Kevin and just before lockdown I was diagnosed with Respiratory Motor Neurone Disease. The condition is terminal and there isn’t a cure. Now I could sit and wallow in pity or I could do something. And I’ve decided to do the latter!!!
I intend to raise as much money as possible for Kirkwood to thank them for their amazing support and great work. As a former rugby player, I am cycling the 420.2 miles from Murrayfield in Edinburgh to Twickenham in London on a static bike kindly loaned by Oragyms in Shepley.
My challenge will start on the 1st October 2020 and I will post weekly updates on my progress.
All donations will be gratefully received and your contribution will make an impact on the wonderful services provided free of charge by Kirkwood. Whether you donate £5 or £500, every penny makes a difference.
Within the next decade, someone we know will be diagnosed with a life limiting illness that they won't get better from.A parent, grandparent, partner, sibling, son or daughter. A friend colleague or neighbour. At some point in the future, and with increasing regularity we all have to face up to this painful reality. At Kirkwood, we don’t think anyone should have to face this alone. We are here to support anyone affected by a life limiting illness, every step of the way.
