Story
On Sunday 26th April, I will be running the London Marathon on behalf of Cancer Research UK and in memory of my brother, Steven Kenny.
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading cancer charity dedicated to saving lives through research. It is also a charity particularly close to my own heart, having lost both my brother and my father to cancer in recent years. I'm honoured to have been given the opportunity to represent their cause in this years marathon.
In the 1970's, less than a quarter of people with cancer survived. But over the last 40 years, survival has doubled - today half will survive. Cancer Research UK's ambition is to accelerate progress and see three quarters of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years. Cancer Research UK receive no government funding, which means everything they do to save lives relies on money from the public.
I don't need to tell you all what a worthy cause this is, so please give what you can. All donations, no matter how small, will be very gratefully received.
Thank you,
Kevin.
