Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road 2025 · 17 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

Teams of four or two will be setting off at sunrise on this Triathlon-style adventure challenge aiming to finish before the sun sets! Teams will cycle, hike, and canoe with views of the breathtaking Lake District.

Story

Two old boys, Kev and Scott, are taking on Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road for children's charity Action Medical Research.

On May 17th we will be setting off at sunrise on our maintain bikes on a 23-mile gravel and mountain route that starts in Coniston and heads into the stunning Tilberthwaite Valley to Stang End. After this we jump straight into a challenging hike up the steep, thigh-bursting trek to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston. Then to finish we take to the water on one of the Lake District’s beautiful lakes for a 2 mile canoe to the finish.

We are racing in aid of children's charity, Action Medical Research. They have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.

By supporting us you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.

Thank you so much for your support.
