Story
Thank you for supporting me as I try to raise money for Children's Hospice South West in memory of Emily Paxford.
My wife's cousin Christine and her husband Mark tragically lost their beautiful daughter in 2011. Emily died aged just 13 from a brain tumour. In the weeks prior to her death Emily was cared for at Charlton Farm Hospice in Bristol. Emily received wonderful care at Charlton Farm and nothing was too much trouble.
As a family, Christine, Mark and Emily's twin brother George, were all cared for so well at this difficult time enabling them to make the most of the short time they had with Emily.
George himself suffered from bone cancer as a child and despite initially having successful treatment, the cancer returned. At the age of 21 George had his leg amputated above the knee but since this he has completed his degree and sails competitively.
The staff at Charlton Farm Hospice continue to support the family and I am going to cycle 200 miles in 3 days, visiting each of the Children's South West Hospices, starting in Bristol and finishing in St Austell in Cornwall.
I haven't been on a bike in 50 years until this year but I want to raise money for this wonderful charity and hope you will give generously to support this great cause.
