Story
December 2020, a week before Christmas, my best friend James, a friend to so many lost his battle after 8 years of treatment for a Brain Tumour that was diagnosed after a routine eye appointment.
On the 30th April 2022 myself along with 5 friends are challenging ourselves to complete the ‘Ultra Challenge’ which is based on the Isle of Wight. In short, this means we are to each walk a total of 106kms around the island in approximately 24hrs!
Our aim is to raise as much money as we can for The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of James, to help others who may experience the heartache, difficulties & challenges that this type of diagnosis can bring.
We were so lucky to have James for as long as we did after his original diagnosis, but not a day goes by where I wish we’d still had more time. If, by taking on this challenge raises awareness in order to help others have more time, then I will have succeeded. A small act to support a much bigger impact!
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.
