Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My journey started just over a year ago when I needed to
lose some weight, I started going walking/jogging a couple of times a week. I lost some weight then came Christmas, afterwards I lost motivation and my weight started creeping up again. I knew that something had to change so I joined the local running club. Now I love running and I am getting fitter and slimmer. I decided to enter the ballot for the London Marathon not thinking for one minute that I would be chosen. The ballot is oversubscribed by 25:1 so I feel very lucky, albeit a bit daunted, that I have been given a place.
I have decided to support a small charity called Addenbrookes Kidney Patients Association or AKPA. They have helped my brother Ralph, who has had two kidney transplants and my wife’s cousin who received a new kidney a few years ago, both in Addenbrookes Hospital. Please take a look at their website to see the support they provide for kidney patients and their families - https://www.akpa.org.uk
