Story
I’d be so grateful for any help you can offer in reaching my target. The marathon will be a great achievement for me in itself, but also represents the final leg of the three ‘London Classics’ endurance events - the other 2 being the Ride London (100 mile bike ride) and the Swim Serpentine (2 mile open water swim) which I have previously completed!
As many of you may know I was once a regular runner but recurring knee problems (and just getting older) has definitely meant that training feels harder now! Any support and extra motivation would be really appreciated.
I will be taking on the London Marathon 2022 for Coram. I discovered this charity through my job and was incredibly impressed by both their general ethos and the specific projects that they run. The circumstances we are born into are a complete lottery and quite simply many children do not receive the support and care they need.
Established by Thomas Coram as The Foundling Hospital in 1739, Coram is the UK's oldest children's charity and has been supporting vulnerable children for 280 years. Coram is now a group of specialist organisations helping more than a million children, young people, professionals and families every year.
Amongst many other endeavours, Coram supports children by finding adoptive families for children and by helping parents by offering support through their children’s early years or when they become overwhelmed by their own problems and struggle to provide the stability their children need.
Thanks very much in advance for all donations - I really appreciate it (as do Coram)!
