Story

Gloucester Rugby Foundation does some amazing work in the community, across many different areas.

To run these Programs, and support the people they do requires funds, and support to maintain the work. In these difficult times can we look to help this Foundation and the work they do.

So the challenge is:

From Kingsholm to Twickenham it is 106 miles. When you break that down by 2.6 thats just over 40 intervals. Starting tomorrow, we are looking for people to take up the challenge of covering a 2.6 mile section.

That can be at home on the bike, if outside can we make sure we follow safe practise and government exercise guidelines: see below.

Please use the following guidance in order to stay safe:

  • stay local and use open spaces near to your home where possible – do not travel unnecessarily
  • you should only go outside alone or with members of your own household
  • keep at least 2 metres apart from anyone outside your household at all times
  • gatherings of more than two in parks or other public spaces have been banned and the police will enforce this
  • if you have a garden, make use of the space for exercise and fresh air
  • take hygiene precautions when you are outside, and wash your hands as soon as you are back indoors
I am hoping that this is something as a Club and Supporters we can get behind, and use it as a way to generate some momentum amingst the supporters as things have been quiet recently.

It can be as simple as the amount you would pay for a Coffee or a Pint, but every bit will be gratefully received.

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that need support.
