London Landmarks Half Marathon 2020

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021 · 1 August 2021 ·
Through the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2020 patients at the Royal Free London will benefit. Fundraising will provide additional medical equipment, Research for earlier diagnosis and advanced treatments and patient support services such as Massage Therapy for cancer patients, Dementia Companions to help relieve anxiety and provide stimulation and Support Hub for those with long-term medical conditions.
I’m raising money to create a fabulous, warm, welcoming space for all people in the chapel.
The Royal Free Hospital vision for the Chapel is to create a community hub on the lower ground floor in the Chapel, not only for patients and carers, but also a space where staff can feel free to come and sit, chat, relax, take part in art workshops, sing with the choir, play the piano, join one of our yoga classes, or mindfulness courses.
The chapel is currently testing out lots of ideas in the Chaplaincy-Spiritual Care team and offering staff the opportunity to come together to build community in the hospital. Staff wellbeing is high on the Trust’s agenda.
Below is what the chapel already offers. With your help we can support this lovely, welcoming, peaceful space for people to come into, and we could do even more to support the great work of staff at RFH.
What the Chaplaincy-Spiritual Care Department currently offers:
Mindfulness Project
Ward based mindfulness for all staff – 15 mins sessions on the ward
Mindfulness 5 week courses at Royal Free and Barnet.
- Mindfulness for difficult emotions
- Meditation sessions weekly
Yoga for staff – Wednesdays 5.30-6.30pm (gentle mindful yoga)
Art workshops in Chapel for staff (patients groups are starting too)
Royal Free Choir – Thursday evenings
Play the piano – staff and patients welcome to come in and play our piano.
A space for people to come and be in… reflect, sit quietly away from the busy wards.'
