The charity is raising money to fund medical research into Alper's Syndrome - a very rare, terminal condition generally found in young children

Story

Hello,
Last year our family's life changed for ever.
Roman was born in July 2012 a perfectly healthy baby boy or so we thought. After about 6 months we knew something wasn't right he wasn't supporting himself, not feeding well and being sick a lot. Countless trips to the doctors and A&E he was eventually sent to see the specialist who admitted him for observation for a night however Roman contracted a bug which made him so unwell.
After 11 days he was released only to be blue lighted back in after 6 hours with a seizure. They couldn't control or stop it so he was induced till doctors from the sick kids hospital arrived. They transferred him to the Yorkhill sick kids in Glasgow were he remained on picu ward, induced while they ran tests but everything came back negative. That's when they decided that it could be some genetic condition and started to lean towards Alpers, no cure no magic medicine and he would die from it but they didn't know how long he would have.
Roman stayed with us for another 4 months in which he had a hard time, still having myclonic seizures. Being sick 24/7 and a bought of pneumonia. However it was 4 months in which we have tons of memory's from the little man.
I owe it to him to raise money for research into this little known about condition.so please donate if you can.
 Thank you,Roman's papa,
                                                Kevin
