Story
I'll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 2nd April 2023, in support of my nephew Paul, and the incredible EHE Rare Cancer charity.
He was diagnosed in 2021, at just 27, with EHE, a rare cancer that originates in the blood vessels. The tumours are widespread across his liver and lungs over 50 tumours in total the largest being over 6.4cm in diameter.
He’s kept his fitness up and been eating healthily, giving up sugar/ alcohol to name a few things - he’s sacrificed a lot. But recently had the devastating news that his tumours are growing. Despite all of this, he's still on track for an unbelievable time in the upcoming LLHM.
This will be my first half marathon for a few years, so my aim is just to complete it and be part of the team running for Paul and the EHE Rare Cancer Charity.
Epithelioid Haemangioendothelioma (EHE) is an indiscriminate and often destructive cancer occurring in men or woman at any age and which is often aggressive in children and young adults. We know little about this rare cancer which is why research is so critical. Yet because of its rarity, there is no funding from government or the pharmaceutical industry for research into this cancer, and very little from larger cancer foundations and charities.
EHE are a small charity who rely on donations to complete their research and to provide brilliant support.
Thank you for your donation.
