Story
My sister in law Julie started it with her idea of getting 60 people to each raise £600. Then my brother decided to retire from his company and came up with the idea for a leaving activity of cycling to every one of the company venues within 24 hours. Personally I'd have gone for the usual piss up, but of course once he said he was going to do it there was no getting out.
So July 5th at 4.00 AM we're setting off from Whitby, then to Scarborough and on to Sheffield and a tour of most of the city before finishing in Derby via Chesterfield. Apparently its 180 miles give or take the odd mile. For those of you who know the area there's the odd hill or two in there as well, just to keep it interesting. I did 80 miles yesterday and had to crawl away from the bike so its hard to see where the other 100 miles are going to come from.
But that's where you come in. Please sponsor me on the basis that I have to finish the course. The motivation of raising cash for the Alzheimer's society will have to be the thing that keeps me going. I know so many people will have stories to tell about how this disease has affected them and their family, including Julie and her mum, but for me that extra motivation will come from thinking about the best dad in the world, my dad, our dad and the early onset dementia that he is fighting at the moment.
Thanks for reading to the end and thanks for whatever you can donate.
