Story
I have created this page as a quick and easy way of trying to raised some money to a cause which I have recently had my eyes opened to in a whole new light.
What am I doing?
I will hopefully, weather permitting, be doing a sky dive at Skydive St Andrews on the 30th of April 2016. I had always thought this was something I would love to do but now if I can raise money for a good cause at the same I could stop making excuses to get over my fears. Any donation would be very much appreciated no matter how big or small, all funds raised will be going to the cause as I will be paying for the sky dive myself.
What is it?
I am hoping to raise money to help fund research into a possible cure, treatment and preventative drug for Crohn's disease. The research is being done by Prof. Hermon-Taylor at the King's College London. Further information about this can be found at http://crohnsmapvaccine.com. They also have a Facebook page https://www.Facebook.com/crohnsmapvaccine
Why am I doing it?
Over recent years I have witnessed my brother going through increasingly difficult times with Crohn's disease and it has opened my eyes as to the number of life changing effects this can have on all sufferers of this disease. At the moment there is no cure and only treatments, which have varying degrees of success, which hope to make the symptoms more manageable. Most commonly steroids which have their own associated problems and are not a long term solution. It is my aim with the help of your kind donations to try and help this team at King's College London get their drug trial through to help people all over the world live their lives as a lot of us take for granted.
