Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Just last September my wonderful Mum passed away whist in the caring Hands of The Rowens Hospice in Purbrook they made her last days so much easier and to repay their care i will be Running The Great south Run in October

THE RAMBLING THOUGHTS OF KEVLAR THE RUNNER . ....

Well, tis Done folks . The Run was on Sunday , set off with theWhite wave of runners at 10.48 after a mr motivator style warm up , which was just as well as i had left my trainee leggings in with the baggage area . Dame Kelly Holmes started it off for everyone but i was on the wrong side of the road to get a handshake with the Blessed Dame , maintained a steady pace for the first 5 miles despite runners hacking it past me at ridiculous and foolish pace , and realising after just 2 miles that the ammount of h2o i had taken on board before the race meant i was desperate for a pee , but once the adrenalin kicked in i managed to hold it all together really well . Got to 6 miles in exactly 1 hour at 10 min mile pace ,but felt fine and so upped it a little in the 2nd half and got home well alough at one stage i had 3 water bottles in my grasp ? Support was amazing and there was a crowd at every stage of the run , and in the final 50 metres was spotted by my esteemed adviser and lovely running friend Louise, and we crossed the line together .

And the time was 1 Hour 30 mins and 23 seconds and dead chuffed with that!! Thanx for everybodies support and a quick reminder that this site will stay open for a further few months in case anybody wants to donate still .

KEVLAR OUT !!! ............... but i will return.
