Update! I've now run the half marathon. My hip is a mess, but I got around in 1:44, well 1:43:47 to be precise. Any last minute donations much appreciated!
And with that I'm renewing my vow to never run another half marathon.

I ran a half marathon with my mate Charlie when we were students and I vowed never to do it again, it absolutely ruined me.
But here we are again, 13 years on. And I need motivation to go through with this one, so I’m fundraising. But this time the charity chosen means so much more. Many people I know will have seen my wife, Sarah, underwent surgery for endometriosis earlier this year. It ended up as an 11 hour surgery, a long recovery but most importantly a successful op.
Sarah was lucky though in many ways, our local hospital hosts the UK’s best endometriosis unit. But the journey to get there was long, years in fact, and this is why this cause is so important. Often dismissed as IBS or another ailment, endometriosis is allowed to develop to the extent that an 11 hour surgery including removal of organs and parts of bowel can be the outcome.
So donate to help give me the motivation to get beach body ready for Crete in June… I mean to raise a nice sum of money for Endometriosis UK to help them deliver the support to those that need it, and raise awareness of the disease to give it the attention it needs.
