Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! I've set this page up to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, who organise the London to Brighton annual bike ride.
If anybody can spare a few quid it'll all be going to a very good cause, and I promise to try my hardest! The BHF are working on some incredible research at the moment with a view to being able to repair the heart damage that results from a heart attack. Have a look here. My own personal challenge is to make it all the way up Ditchling Beacon without resorting to walking, it's 50miles in and so steep that a few years ago somebody ironically suffered a heart attack and died attempting it!
I know I'm a little bit late organising this page and the brutal truth is that I've always wanted to take part and I think it'll be a fun day out, as such it wasn't something that I thought I could really ask for sponsorship for! I wouldn't sponsor somebody to eat a tasty meal / get a massage / go on holiday etc so I didnt really feel like I could ask people to sponsor me to ride the London to Brighton.
Anyway, when I started to contemplate that I had taken up a space on the ride that may have otherwise been granted to a more keen fundraiser, I thought I should try my best to drum up some support. I dont want the British Heart Foundation to miss out on potential sponsorship due to me taking part so I'm going to get the ball rolling by sponsoring myself £20 to do it ! :-)
No racer or road bike for me, I'll be tackling it on my 8yr old mountain bike with off-road tyres, no wimping out :-)
Anyway, donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks in advance - Kev x
