Story
As you may be aware, before the Summer holidays, our dear friend, colleague and teacher Emma Leeming was diagnosed with leukemia. Her absence is devastating for us as a school community, and especially for the English department. Having spoken to Emma, we know that she is missing not being here with everyone. We are counting the days until she will return to be with us - where she belongs - but until that time, we want to do something proactive to show that she is always in our thoughts.
We want to pay tribute to our colleague and teacher by raising money for DKMS- one of the UK's leading organisations that aims to "delete blood cancer." You can find out much more about DKMS here- https://www.dkms.org.uk/learn-more/about-dkms .
Anything you can do in order to contribute or raise money for this incredible cause would be thoroughly appreciated by Emma's family and friends. We are already planning bake sales, giving up something for a month and Mrs Donnachie is running the Manchester Half Marathon on Saturday 10th October.
We are confident that you will join together with us in sending your very best wishes to Emma and her family.
We miss you Emma- stay strong 🙂
