Story
My pupils inspire me on a daily basis. Their willingness to try new things, challenge themselves and keep going when it gets hard always leaves me in complete awe.
I am turning 50 this week and it is time I followed their example. The first weekend in February sees me taking part in the Pilgrim's Challenge, a race which covers 66 miles on the North Downs Way over two days. Even though I love running, I have never attempted to run ultra marathons on consecutive days, so I am expecting this to be hard.
I really wanted to raise vital funds for a children's charity based here in Cornwall and presented the children at my school with a choice of 4. The Wave Project received an overwhelming number of their votes.
The Wave Project provides surf therapy for children and young people who experience a range of physical and mental health issues, social deprivation or social isolation. It gives children in need a chance to build their confidence and self-esteem, develop resilience and make friends.
The Wave Project is funded by donations from supporters. If you could make a donation, however small, my pupils and myself would be ever so grateful!
