Story
As many of you know, I've been on the board of the Texas 4000 for Cancer for many years. I lost my dad and uncle, and most recently my friend Hugh, to cancer ... and too many people I care about have had to fight it or have lost loved ones themselves.
At the Texas 4000 for Cancer, amazing students take 18 months of their college life to undergo a leadership development program and train for, plan and execute a 4,000+ mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage, where they spread hope, knowledge and charity in the fight against cancer. The grants they donate support cancer research and support services organizations.
So this year, let's ADOPT A BIKE on behalf of TWO of the student riders! (We are so close!)
It costs $1500 for each bike, and the organization will match us with riders who will ride on behalf of our loved ones. I can aggregate the funds from people who donate to this campaign and share with the rider who they'll be supporting.
The bike will have a wrap on the top tube with the wording of our choice.
We will have the opportunity to follow our adopted bike and rider throughout the summer ride on social media. I will keep us all in the loop!
Here's who I am always running for ... and as you donate, I'll add your people to my list!
