I am doing it this year as Cancer is something that has hit my family hard and every little penny is needed to fight this vile bloody thing. 

My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 50's which she managed to fight by having a double mastectomy and hard hitting medication. But then years later it reared it ugly head once again and being the though old bird that she is, fought it again with medication but every day she still has that cancer cloud hanging over her. 

Dear old nanny Barbara, as my boys call her,  we sadly lost to cancer. You could not find a more kinder, caring, loving, warm, gentle lady than her and the vile "C" took her away from her loving family and friends leaving a massive hole that can not be filled.

My auntie had just been diagnosed with breast cancer so once again it has hit us. My auntie is a kind, funny, warm loving lady who would not hurt a fly but yet again cancer has reared its ugly head. 

I will be doing the race for life to help fight cancer but will be running with these three lovely ladies at the forefront of my mind spurring me on.

Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
