We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

This September, I’m raising money at Shine Night Walk to help Cancer Research UK beat bowel cancer sooner.  I'm sure you know why, but if not, see nickyboardman.wordpress.com to read Nicky's story of his own marathon battle with bowel (appendiceal) cancer.

Thousands of people, Nicky included,  have benefited from Cancer Research UK’s work. Thanks to improvements in diagnosis and treatment, half of people with bowel cancer will survive for at least 10 years after diagnosis.

But we can’t stop there. Sadly, bowel cancer still claims around 43 lives each day.  Nicky's disease still carries only a 6% 5-year survival rate, but he is battling the odds, and with continued research, hopefully those odds will improve further...

Please dig deep and sponsor me. Every pound you donate will help fund their life-saving work.  Last year, you helped me raise over £2000.... Can we beat that this year???

Gift Aid

If you’re a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.

Sleep can wait. Beating cancer can’t.
