We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Saturday 1st October 2011 we embarked upon a very big challenge of walking the 26.2 mile SHINE London marathon. The walk was all about raising vital funds for Cancer Researck UK's life-saving work.

Not only was it such a long distance but it was also through the night ... which meant serious sleept deprivation for us both (we both love our sleep!!!) We started at 9.15pm and having met many truly inspirational people along the way we walked over the finish line at 7.15am - just after sun rise - will very aching hips, legs, feet and feeling completely exhausted.

It has also been established that due to a last minute change to the route for safety the walk was actually just under 26.8miles ... so an extra half a mile longer than a marathon!

It was an amazing night and having successfully completed our challenge we are collecting sponsorship of which every penny counts and goes to Cancer Research UK.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you from both of us.
