We support Royal Papworth Hospital to enhance patient care and treatment

Story

Royal Papworth Hospital’s always ensurses that it puts patients and their families at the heart of everything it does. The Charity is committed to supporting patients and their carers and seeks to enhance the support it provides to the Hospital. Charitable funds have enabled the Hospital to provide care beyond that of NHS funding alone, enhancing the Hospital’s status as the UK’s leading provider of specialist cardiothoracic care and the country’s main heart and lung transplant centre.

I have worked at Papworth for 13 years in CCA. In the unit we care for very sick patients on multiple modes of life saving support and their families. It is often a desperate time for patients and families.

The patients are very poorly and they need the support of their families. Equally family members want and need to be there for their loved ones.

Patients can be with us for many months. Families tend to struggle financially as they are required to pay for accommodation, travel expenses and general cost of living.

I’d like to raise some money to support these families so when their loved ones are fighting to get well the family members don’t have to worry so much financially as the Papworth hardship fund can help to support their added expenses.

Thank you for your support x
