The Spring Centre is a unique and wonderful charity which supports children, young adults and families who have a variety of learning and physical disabilities throughout Gloucestershire.  We provide services for children (birth to 18 years), young adults (18-25 years) and their families. Our services include pre-school sessions, after school club, holiday respite and family sessions and an adult day service. These services are invaluable to the children and families who use them.  We also provide support groups for parents.

Our aim is to improve the quality of life for both the individual and the family unit by empowering parents, children and siblings. Often the strain of coping with a special needs child means that families are stretched to breaking point and experience more disadvantage than others. This can lead to a vulnerable family unit, especially if the family receives little or no help.

We feel our running costs of just over £10,000 per month, helping over 100 children and young adults a week, is excellent value for money. We have achieved this by cutting costs as much as we can without the services suffering.  This has meant the staff taking on extra duties without pay, which they have willingly done, as they, like myself are passionate about the work that we do and the children we help.

Over the last twenty years we have expanded hugely, extending our ages from birth to 5 years to birth up to  25 years.  Our vision is to remain as a second to none service for Gloucestershire families who have children and young adults with disabilities or special needs, and to continue our success and to grow and improve in the future years.
