Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well folks it's that time of year again when i dress up like an idiot and make a fool of myself....no no it's not my birthday, its FUN RUN time!
This years theme is Pirates (yarr.) And myself and hopefully a friend or two will be doing the usual 3.5 mile run/walk/crawl (or as last year, limp, though i do not plan on spraining anything this year!) to raise money for the MRI scanner Appeal for Harefield Hospital :)
The usual suspects amoung you will know what the hospital means to me, for those of you who may be new to this and who may possibly be thinking about parting with some money, heres the brief:.....
Harefield Hospital is not just the place i work at. Harefield means the world to me because in the year 2000 they gave my Mum a new lease of life with a double Lung Transplant.
As a family member of a patient, I cannot make clear enough just how special an environment this hospital is, Mum was given the very best care, always with a human touch, before the operation, during her Recovery, and still to this very day, with her ongoing care.
EVERYONE involved in mums care, at all levels of the hospital, have always impressed Mum, and myself and the rest of the family, with the totally unique and touching care and attention given to patients, and their families, during some of the most emotional and stressfull times in our lives.
A Transplant is not a miracle cure. Things do not just "fix themselves" after the operation. There is always follow up care and research and with the help of people like you, the person reading this page, we can help continue to save, and change lives.
If you have taken the time to read this far down, you already have my thanks :) If you now feel that you can help in this fantastic cause, please do! Whether it's by sponsoring me 50p, by making a larger donation, by registering as an orgon donor, by giving blood, or any other action, please please please, do so
This years fun run is the 30th anniversary, if you have the time on Sunday September Fourth, why not pop down to the Harefield Hospital and show your support in person? As well as the priceless oppertunity of seeing me prancing around like a loonatic there are Raffles, Stalls, Games, BBQ's, and all sorts of other bits and bobs around on the day.
Thanks again for reading, and for your support, and I hope to see you all soon!
KJ xx
