Goal;

I'll be heading out to Mysore (India) at the start of February to help with a project called "WASH". This project was set up to help with one of MDG (Millennium Development Goals). The goals form a blueprint agreed to by all the world's countries and all the worlds leading development institutions.These goals are:

1. Hunger/Water 2. Primary Education 3. Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women 4. Reduce Child Mortality 5. Improve Maternal Health 6. HIV/Malaria/AIDS and other diseases 7. Ensure Environment Suitability 8. Global Partnership and Development.

Project "WASH" helps communities access clean and safe water.

The money raised won't be going to me personally, the money raised goes towards sanitation (drinking water, toilets, drains).

About Raleigh;

Raleigh International is a charity, working with ordinary people who want to do something extra-ordinary with their lives and make a difference in the world. Raleigh works in partnership with local communities to make a much needed difference to peoples lives, supporting their efforts to improve their quality of life. The charity helps enabling communities to access basic services such as water, housing, sanitation, education and many other things.

‘A world where young people feel a sense of belonging to a global community. A community working together to strengthen and improve the world around them’ and ‘to bring people together from around the world, to inspire them to work in partnership as active global citizens, to teach how to build sustainable communities and conserve the environment.’

Where does the funding go?;

The funds I raise do not pay for my flights, visa, necessary jabs or kit. Aside from paying for my upkeep on the expedition, my fundraising also contributes to the participation of starting new projects in India. Raleigh is therefore ensuring that the local communities themselves will benefit in the long run, not just as long as foreign volunteers provides hands on help. My fundraising will also contribute to paying for disadvantaged young people from the UK to take part in the same expedition. Your donations will therefore help at least three of us!

What it entitles;

In February/April I will be leaving everything and everyone at home in Chester as well as my job to take 3 months out to travel to India and help as many people as possible to improve their lives in as many different methods.

How I plan to raise the money?;

I plan to do many activities such as selling cakes, making and selling Christmas cards, and calendars as well as many other things. I need as much help as I can get to reach my target, that means I need your help and your support.
