Story
This year I will be doing the 26 mile hike through the peak district on Saturday 4 September 2021 for Macmillan (I’ll stop changing the date now lol)
Leanne and I have been moved to a new date in the Lake District as our event got cancelled, hoping this is the last change as Leanne's Uncle is very seriously ill, and has been an avid supporter of Leanne's charity challenges, so we're locked in and committed now.
Did I mention my training has consisted of eating crisps? No, okay well it has so there's that.
As well as this Mighty Hike, we'll be doing a skydive later this year together to raise money for cancer. Can I just add that it feels far safer to jump out of a plane with a professional attached to you; Leanne wanted to do a bungee jump and I am not down for the concept of hanging off a piece of string and just dropping into oblivion, no ta.
Macmillan is a great charity that offer support for those going through or have been going through cancer treatment and throughout the pandemic, they've missed out on countless fundraising opportunities.
Our Pap, Norman, who sadly passed away aged 87 in October 2019 survived it twice with the help of the nurses and support he received before, during and after. We all hate that "C" word, and always hope that the stories you hear will not be a reality for your family, or anyones, but in an awful time it's great that there are charities like Macmillan out there to help and support families and survivors in their time of need.
