Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will know Harrison’s story, and that he was due to be born in July, but sadly lost his life after he was born too soon. I’m determined that his story doesn’t have to end there, and that his short life can still have a positive impact.
It’s been a long time since I’ve raised any money in my baby boy’s memory. So, across the month of July I will be Going the Distance, walking 33 miles to raise money for Bliss in Harrison’s memory. I’ll be doing those miles with Harrison’s fur-bro Toby, who used to love snuggling up with my Harrison bump; and his rain-bro Henry, who never got to meet his older brother.
Bliss are challenging people to fundraise and walk / run / cycle between 27 and 100 miles across this summer. On average, NICU parents travel 27 miles to visit their premature or sick baby in neonatal care - with some families travelling up to 100 miles. Imagine being that far away from your poorly baby. I chose 33 miles because 3 is Harrison’s special number. Our little fighter was born at 23+3 gestation, on 30/03/2018 at 3:33pm, weighing a tiny 523g.
**If I exceed my fundraising target of £200, I’ll think of another way to add 10 miles onto my goal for every £100 I receive above target, e.g. 10 miles worth of zumba**
I appreciate that times are currently challenging, but I can only imagine having to deal with the heartache of having a poorly baby in NICU right now. I would love it if you could spare even a pound or two for Bliss, so they can help more poorly babies and their families.
Thank you so much for reading.
Love, Harrison’s Mummy XxX
