National lockdowns, while necessary, are having a devastating impact on mental health in so many ways.
Due to the pressures of the first lockdown, someone very dear to me made three attempts on their life. The news shook me to my absolute core, and it was a painful time for all involved. I'm beyond lucky to say that this person is in recovery now, but my heart goes out to everyone who wasn't so fortunate, and everyone who continues to struggle.
Lockdown 2.0 looks like another difficult mountain to climb, and as we take it on, I'm determined to raise awareness for suicide prevention, raise funds for the mental health charity Mind, and put a smile on people's faces with some much needed ridiculousness (follow my journey on Twitter (@KerriCyclesNude).
So sit back & relax: on 29th November my freezing wobbly bits will take a bicycle tour of London's top landmarks!! ...featuring some glitter and potentially something between me and the bike seat.
Remember to reach out to your friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances and strangers. Be that support line. Your warmth could save a life.
In loving memory of my cousin Carly, who in 2011 sadly lost her life to suicide, aged 20.
