Story
On the the 29th May this year, I'll be running the 2022 Edinburgh Marathon to raise funds for St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh. I was due to run in 2020 but Covid delayed the event for a couple of years.
Having completed the half marathon in 2019, I wanted to go for the big one whilst at the same time, raising funds for a charity that means a lot to my family and I.
As many of you will know, we sadly lost my Nana (Ruby) in July 2018 to cancer. For those of you who didn't know her, she was an amazing woman who meant the world to my family and I. Always the life and soul of the party, it was heartbreaking to see the effect this awful illness can have. In keeping with the way she was all her life, she fought until the very end. St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh. My Nana spent time in and out of the hospice before spending her final days there.
The staff at St Columba's were simply incredible. The support they gave my Nana throughout her illness made her as comfortable as she could be. The support they gave our family, both before and after my Nana's passing, made such a difference. It was the first time I had come across the charity and was blown away by the work they do.
This is just my little way of thanking them and hopefully I can raise as much money as possible for them. I really appreciate all of your support and can't wait to finish the marathon for such a fantastic cause.
