Story

20/3/11 - Hey guys, thanks for the donations since we set up! really well appreciated!! As well as this about 5 sponsor forms are doing the rounds, We have recieved the backing of East Lancs Hospice who have been kind enough to provide running vests for us. Also thanks to NARPO for printing our message. If you don't trust the internet and would rather donate another way e-mail me and i'll arrange it for you! mickkerr95@hotmail.co.uk. Thanks again for your kindness x

in September 2010 our mother Dorothy died after a long battle with a rare neuro degenerative disorder called Multiple System Atrophy.

MSA is a very rare terminal condition which severly affects the things we take for granted in our everyday life such as balance, movement and other autonomic functions of the body such as bladder control or blood pressure regulation.

Unfortunatly there is no cure for this condition , so treatment involves treating the symptoms of this disorder. Almost 80% of patients are disabled within 5 years of onset of the motor symptoms, and only 20% survive past 12 years

During her illness my mother spent time in the East Lancashire hospice . She loved this place and was well looked after. As did my father Donald Kerr, who passed away in this hospice in September 2001 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

As a registered charity ELH relies on donations to help maintain its running cost of £1.6 million. Myself (Mick Kerr), my sister Heather and close friend Ric Jones will be running the 10K Bupa Great Manchester Run to raise money for the charity. 100% of the money you donate will go directly towards care for patients and families who are going through difficult time as they struggle with Terminal Illnesses

We appreciate there is a Recession on, and you don’t have to give anything, but we appreciate everything we get and hope our efforts are well sponsored

Many Thanks

Mick, Heather & Ric x
