Story
My late husband, Christian Klottrup took part in an Outward Bound course when he was 17. He felt it taught him so many amazing skills and really helped him develop as a person. He was a person who lived his life to the full but also cared deeply for those around him. He was a natural leader and worked incredibly hard at everything he did in life. Tragically, he had bowel Cancer and died age 35 after a very short illness. Just a few months before, he ran the Frederick nut job challenge - a 5K night time race followed by a half-marathon the next day, and made it in very good time.
It will shortly be 5 years since we lost Christian. Stirling will be doing his first race - the 1.5K Junior run on Saturday 20th and I will run the 10mile Great South Run on 21st October. Please sponsor us to raise money for the Outward Bound Trust to help other people live life to the full and develop the leadership skills for the next generation.
The Outward Bound Trust is a charity with a difference, we believe young people are capable of more than they thought possible. We work with over 25,000 young people every year, developing skills that enable them to engage successfully in education, training and employment and ultimately help them to make a more positive impact in their own communities.
Through adventurous journeys using the mountains, seas and lochs on our doorsteps they develop confidence, self-motivation and resilience – giving them the skills to make more of their opportunities in life. With nearly 1 million young people aged 16-25 not in education, employment or training in the UK, our work has never been more important. With your support, we can make a difference to the lives of young people.
