North-South Challenge, 5 June 2021
Over the weekends of 29-30 May and 5-6 June, we are inviting all our colleagues to walk, run, cycle, ride or sail a total of 2,966km: the distance between Oslo and Madrid, the most northerly and southerly of our 12 offices around Europe.

Story

Our colleagues in our firm are participating in an epic challenge. The distance from our most northerly office, Oslo, to our most southerly office, Madrid, is 2966 km. We want to cover this distance by either walking, running, cycling, horse riding or even sailing on the weekends of 29th & 30th May and 5th and 6th June, 2021. You will be able to witness our heroic efforts here thanks to videos and livestreams that will be uploaded on those weekends. How can you help? You can show us your support by sponsoring our brave athletes to complete their target in km. Founded in June 2020, the Foundation has so far distributed 1,178m euros to COVID-related charities. The 15 beneficiary charities come from seven European countries.

At the Benelux office we will be riding the harsh final of the Amstel Gold Race classic, a ride of 75km with more than 1300 meters in elevation.

In total we will be riding over 1,000km, the riders are: Alexander Craeymeersch, Benoit Petrarque, Christiaan Beunk, Daan van den Berk, Frederic Renard, Hans Pluijgers, Jan Pieter van Wijngaarden, Job van Breukelen, Karel Zoete, Loic de Smet, Maarten ter Horst, Matthias Maenhaut, Mathijs van Leijenhorst, Patrick Roquas, Peter Olofsen, Richard Withagen and Romain Kumps. In addition, Marcha de Boer and Tran Nguyen will do a hike in the Dutch mountains.

About the campaign

Over the weekends of 29-30 May and 5-6 June, we are inviting all our colleagues to walk, run, cycle, ride or sail a total of 2,966km: the distance between Oslo and Madrid, the most northerly and southerly of our 12 offices around Europe.

About the charity

Founded in 1997, the Kepler Cheuvreux Group is a leading pan-European financial services company active in research, intermediation and advisory. With operations in 13 countries, the group is highly sensitive to the social and health impact of the coronavirus crisis, and has prioritised the protection of its employees and clients from the start. In June 2020, the group went a step further by creating the Kepler Cheuvreux Foundation, to contribute substantially and concretely to the common good, during and beyond the pandemic. The Foundation actively involves the group's employees, clients and partners and, in accordance with its own non-profit status, will support only non-profit organisations in Europe and the UK. These include healthcare service providers especially in critical contexts, charities supporting those most affected by the social and economic consequences of the pandemic today and by deprivation in the longer term, healthcare research bodies and organisations caring for the elderly or disabled.
