Story
Kenzie will be walking at least 50 miles over the course of the 6 weeks school summer holidays to help raise money for bibic.
Update: End of week 6 and last day of Kenzie's challenge. Been in Cornwall this week and clocked up 19.5 miles. This means Kenzie's final total is now 109.5miles! Target well and truly smashed 😍. Well done Kenzie we're very proud!
bibic are a charity providing therapeutic support to children and young people who have developmental and neurological disorders. Through their assessments and advisory services they help families to understand 'their normal' and put in place behaviour strategies and practical measures to ensure individuals can lead their best life possible, enjoy a calm and happy environment and be appropriately understood and supported by those around them.
#miles4bibic is their all-new fundraising challenge for 2021 harnessing the benefits of movement for us all, Movement forms one of the key elements of the holistic therapy at bibic. Did you know that running (or in Kenzie's case also bouncing, swinging or spinning!) regulates the sensory system, walking on rough terrain boosts working memory and skipping improves coordination.
The average cost of a full assessment, therapeutic plan and six months of family support is £2,085. Families are asked to contribute £600 (with low-income families able to access fee waivers) and bibic works hard to fundraise to make up the balance.
Please help Kenzie to support bibic go the extra mile for the families they support by donating.
Many thanks for your support.
