Story
We were originally meant to be taking part in a world record cycling challenge on June 12th/June 13th to raise funds for the Memusi Foundation. The challenge was for teams of 6 to keep a spin bike going for 24 hours. The situation in Kenya, and Magadi, is dire. Starvation is a very real threat alongside the global COVID impact. It is easy to lockdown and stay at home when you have a home, when you have food in your cupboards and you have some security behind you.
In a show of international co-operation, Andy and I have been moved to take ACTION. My suggestion was to cycle 50km each for 5 days, 250km each over the course of a week, for a total of 500km or row 50km. Andy's was to cycle for 24 hours between us in 2 hour shifts. So here we are. On July 5th/6th Andy and I will keep the wheels spinning for 24 hours. From 4pm-4pm.

The Memusi Foundation acted quickly, launching SMART AID; creating a fund to buy goats from those impacted, unlocking capital to enable people to have cash to purchase food. 20000 people have benefited from SMART AID to date but more needs to be done. It is only with your help that the work can continue.
Through the programme evaluation carried out on SMART AID it is costing just 50p to feed someone for 3 weeks.
50p.
We know these are difficult times for everyone but anything at all will provide hope for some of the kindest, most welcoming and friendliest people on earth.
