Story
My name is Kory Helfman, and I am the owner of Ken's Man's Shop in Dallas.
After the latest storm (snow, ice, and freezing temps) I saw a need to assist the North Texas Food Bank provisions that were getting more and more limited with the great numbers of people in need.
JustGiving sends your donation straight to North Texas Food Bank and you may donate on our fundraising page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kensmansshop
On Sunday, April 18th anytime between 9 am and 2 pm (different start times to keep safety distances in place) we are asking our community to drop off non-perishable food items for the North Texas Food Bank.
By doing so we are encouraging our community to ride the North Dallas Bike Trail starting in Preston Royal N.E. Village and going a 1/2 block to the Northhaven Trail.
From there people can go all the way to White Rock (and around) if they so choose. Many of our clients are doing this as a family/charity/ community event given that it is also Earth Day that week.
The small businesses involved are: Royal China, The Toy Maven, T.J.'s Seafood, Cousin Earl, Neuhaus Cafe, Cyro1one, and Ken's Man's Shop
We are being assisted by Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense. Their students must complete a certain number of community hours each year. They will be all along the trail handing out water, and encouragement, plus another safety layer.
Help our hungry neighbors by donating funds to the North Texas Food Bank! It can really make a difference!
Thank you for your support!
Kory
