Story
Thanks for taking the time to see just how CRAZY we are!
Nori and Kensei will cycle from London to Scotland for unicef UK, the world's leading organisation for protecting the well being of children around the world, and just to make it more challenging we'll only take a handful amount of camping goods with us!! Going from July 22nd.
During the trip we'll visit Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Isle of Skye before our final destination of Inverness. (that's approx 700miles..) So please do feel free to cheer us up anytime lol. The distance between where we live and the good old DONZOKO, the restaurant we work at, is roughly 3.5miles. Works out that we simply just have to cycle there and back 100 times. Most importantly the key for succeeding this challenge i believe is not stamina, strength or technical issues on bicycles but is to enjoy and appreciate the fact that we are able to make a challenge first of all!
and so i may wear a pink afro...
We are carrying out this tough challenge for a very worthy charity, Unicef UK. Established in 1946, works for children's rights, their survival, development and protection, guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
All children have the same rights whatever their ethnicity, gender, beliefs, HIV status, abilities, or family background. Yet every day children, like adults, face discrimination for any number of reasons. Poverty is also a significant barrier to children achieving their rights. Here in the UK, the fifth richest country in the world, around four million children live in poverty. UNICEF UK, as a member of the End Child Poverty coalition, is working to ensure that the UK Government makes the necessary financial investment to fulfil its commitment to end child poverty in the UK by 2020.
