Fundraising for Alzheimer's Society
Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page I hope you can help. In February 2009, I will be cycling almost 500 KM across Vietnam and Cambodia to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society - My target is £3,000.
In February this year, my father-in-law died from the effects of this terrible disease, changing a strong, loving father and grandfather into a shadow of himself who could neither recognise anyone or hold a conversation. This had a major effect on every member of the family even though, due to the long term issues of this, we felt that we had lost him 5 years before that.
Alzheimer's and dementia affects probably every family in the UK with 1 in 20 over 65 and 1 in 5 over 80 affected. The Alzheimer's Society helps with support for carers and research into this disease - you never know, one day you or your family may also be effected by this and need their help.

OK, I'm about 5 weeks into my training, the saddle sores have come, gone and come back again. A Gel seat is on my very soon to purchase list. The miles are racking up, and I'm starting to feel the benefit of all the cycling. I'm looking to up my distances this week and to add another day. Thanks for all the donation, but PLEASE!!!!!!! keep them coming for this deserving charity.
