Story

Hello my name is Kenny Simm I'm 37 years old I live in Haddington East Lothian Scotland however I'm originally from the Shetland islands before later Joining the Royal Marines where I served 10 years.

I'm currently employed by Viridor as a Mechanical Fitter at the Dunbar Energy Recovery Facility East Lothian.

I'm Married to my wife Elizabeth and we have a little boy Hugo he is 7 years old.

During these difficult times with lockdown and self isolation we take for granted just how lucky we are staying safe in our own homes with all the luxuries we have to that end I'm setting myself a bit of a challenge climbing up a 8 metres rope and abseiling down in my garden completing 8848m the height of Mt Everest in 48hrs with no sleep...

I will be raising money for the NHS men and woman who are risking there lives during this global pandemic who are doing an incredible extraordinary job of saving lives!

The NHS has been a big part of our family lives with both my mother in law working in the NHS who is now retired and my sister in law working in the COVID-19 Edinburgh wards.

Throughout the 48hrs there will be a livestream day and night where you can see and follow the challenge I will be starting this Saturday 25th April at 0600stay tuned and stay safe!

NHS staff and volunteers are doing amazing work right now in caring for COVID-19 patients.Together, let's show our respect and gratitude as they work tirelessly in the face of the virus. It's our turn to make sure we look after them, to ensure they can keep doing their vital work.
