Story
Women's Trust
Woman's Trust supports women affected by domestic abuse by providing counselling and support groups. Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women in the UK, it is the biggest single cause of female depression and mental health problems. Help us make a difference and change women's lives.
The Event
Held under UK Athletics rules, this non-stop 145 mile race is from Little Venice, London to Bathurst Basin, Bristol (my home).
The route takes in the Grand Union Canal towpath to Slough, the Jubilee & Thames River paths to Reading, the Kennett & Avon Canal path, to finish at the Lightship John Sebastian in Bathurst Basin.
The aim is to make the finish line for the afternoon of the 24th.
The race is completely self supported. It would not be possible to complete without a dedicated team to plan and provide water & food, give medical aid, transport gear and ensure I do not get lost when I have been awake for close to two days. The team will be having far more to think about than me and with limited rest themselves.
Big thank you to the core support team:
Catherine Stannard, Alina Dietrich & Jody Orchard, along with the volunteers that have offered to run behind me and help keep me going on the last stretch.
Donations
I am fully aware that after one of the hardest years in memory for many, that donations at this time may be a stretch. If you cannot afford to give at present then a share of the link to friends and family is just as valuable in helping to raise much needed funds.
