Story
It's my great privilege to run the School of Hard Knocks charity but also know and very much support the wonderful work of London Youth Rowing. Whether it is a boat or a rugby ball, for both of these charities, these are just the tools employed to make make lasting and powerful change in the lives of the young people they exist to serve.
Last year I think we really did compete pretty effectively - this year, quite a few of us are injured or have been struggling with the after affects of Covid. So our race aim this year is all about the distance, not the time. And we are going to do it - as a team.
I don't want to be overly dramatic, but this time last week, I was admitted to a respiratory ward having gone in to A&E with breathing problems. Why tell you this? Because I'm not looking forward to this challenge. At all. I've nearly written to tell the team I'm dropping out several times, and maybe that would bet the wisest. But I would be miserable doing that ... so if you EVER are minded to sponsor me... then please let it be for this; for these two great causes. Whatever you can, please just take a few minutes and do it now.
Thank you
