Story
I am fund raising for the Brain Research Trust in memory of Donna. I chose this charity after some research on the internet and some gut instinct feelings. During last summer after visiting their headquarters in London with Courtney and being shown around their research sites at the UCL and seeing the enthusiasm and gratitude of the scientists and the BRT staff I knew that we had made the right choice and that they were right up Donna’s street. Our friends and all at ‘Georgie ‘ have done a great job in raising over £7500 so far for the Brain Research Trust but as yet I haven’t done my bit.
I am planning a 6 Peak Challenge in order to raise funds for the BRT in Donna’s memory. I am planning to do the National 3 Peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden within 24hours and then immediately driving to North Yorkshire and do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks ( Pen-y - gent , Whernside and Ingleborough) . I know it sounds mad but if I just did one challenge, Donna wouldn’t be happy because that would be within my comfort zone and she was all about pushing potential to the limit and seeing what is achievable. I am also pleased to say that I will be doing the challenge with 6 amigos; Elliot George, Caroline Scaramuzza, Phil Scaramuzza, Lee Tedder , Richard Swales & Storm. The challenge is fast approaching and I am getting excited about the challenge we are going to embark on.
One of the best legacies we can give to Donna is to remember whenever you think you’ve reached your limit, search for a little bit more, but not because you feel you have to, but instead because you can. We will also be looking forward to loads of our friends joining in during the Yorkshire stint of the challenge. So I hope as many of you as possible will join us on this phase, either doing all or part of it. We would appreciate support and company during this stage so that we don’t crash and burn.
