Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity believes no child should face hospital alone. Every day, 500 seriously ill children face a life-changing hospital visit. Children tell us it can be frightening. Parents say they're sick with worry. We want to change this. With your support, we can. Are you in?

Story

Hi there!!

For some bizarre reason I decided to set myself a challenge and I chose to do the BUPA Great Edinburgh Run which is 10k. So I thought, Why not do it in aid of something that could do with the money and is something close to not only my own heart but nearly everyone else who will (hopefully) donate to the cause?
Thats why I chose the Sick Kids. The amount of times I've been in there for twisting my ankle, getting chemicals in my eyes, stabbing the back of my throat with a straw (ahem) and so forth, and I'm sure everyone has either been treated there or knows someone who has.

The sick kids foundation give assistance in the following areas:

  • the provision of a wide variety of extra comforts, which make time in hospital better for children
  • the provision of extra child and family-friendly facilities
  • the purchase of extra medical equipment over and above NHS provision
  • the provision of extra support for sick children who are cared for in the Community
  • funding for extra training and research

    Please help me give a good contribution to this great charity. I'm sure the sight of me crawling over the finish line on the day will be worth it, not to mention the difference your donation will make to the 100'000 children and their families who go through the doors of the hospital per year will make.
