This page is for one of my best friends mum who a year ago sadly lost her battle with cancer which was bravely fought to the end. One year on, to the day Aisha, her eldest daughter and three of Aisha's closest friends, Kelly Yarwood, Wendy Whitecross and Alison McPherson will run the Race for Life Lincoln 2013 in her memory. We will encourage each other as some of us are runners and some will find it a bit more challenging, but this day is about raising some money to help other sufferers of this awful disease and remembering a lady who was special to of lot of people. It's a shame that her two sons Kareem and Bilal can't run alongside us as its a ladies only event. (Although I am sure many of you will agree it would be fun to see them dressed up as ladies)

£10 raised will buy enough glass slides for a scientist to examine 300 tumour samples.

£50 raised will buy around 22 thermometers, vital for many cancer fighting experiments that need to be performed at precise temperatures.

£94 raised will help cover the cost for one woman to take part in a clinical trial aiming to improve survival for post-menopausal women with early stage breast cancer.

£120 raised will help train cancer nurses to listen and give advice to patients over the phone & provide support.
