Story
I will be completing a walking Challenge to raise awareness and fundraise for the British Tinnitus Association, the only national charity specialising in tinnitus support.Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Hi Kelly here, 👋 welcome to my just giving page. My challenge is to walk two mile a day for over a month 😊 I have suffered with severe intrusive tinnitus for nearly 10year now. It impacts on me massively and the last two year made me severly depressed. Its a complex condition that not many understand and it's took me a long time time to adapt to it it along with my hearing loss. It is a debilitating condition and really hard to live with.
Last year I hit a real hard place with my health both physically and mentally and tinnitus was one of the root causes. After speaking with my GP they decided I would do small exercise each day to help me, at first I was scared to actually do this I had gone from a sociable person and very active to batteling hearing loss and tinnitus which has totally changed my life. I was scared of living and withdrawn from everything and thought it would be impossible to become well again.
Each day I stepped outside for fresh air and walked eventually i was walking nearly 8 mile a day got into a great exercise routine,i also had good support from the BTA to. So a few month on and iam slowly rebuilding myself, and decided to complete a walking challenge it will be good for my overall health but the main reason exercise helps me deal with tinnitus and depression and iam determined to keep a healthy mind a healthy body!
I also want to spread awarness and help anyone else suffering or coming to terms with this condition that they have no cure for.
