Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you will know, my lovely Nan (Nanny Lena) passed away in June this year, after slowly deteriorating with the terrible illness of Alzheimers. My Nan was such a beautiful, fun loving, hilarious, chatty and big-hearted person and it was so so sad to see the woman we knew and loved fading away as the illness slowly took over her body and mind until she was just a shadow of her former self.
Alzheimers doesn't only affect the sufferer. It also causes unbelievable amounts of pain, suffering and heartbreak to all of their family and friends who can only watch on helplessly.
By taking part in this Memory Walk, I am hoping to make as many people as possible aware of this dreadful illness which is relentless to the end. Any donation, however small, will help to make a difference towards anyone facing this illness and to hopefully finding a cure. Thank you so much for your kind generosity.
*My mum, auntie, sisters, friends & myself are actually taking part in the Alzheimer's Brighton and Hove Memory Walk which is being held on 25th September 2011 and is 3.5 miles and as per usual, yes I have left it too the last minute!
