Story
Me and my family are doing this walk in memory of our Mum Jeanie Pugh who died at the end of last year. It is a perfect day to do this as it is Mothers Day and we will all be thinking of her.
Mum spent the last week of her life at the Prospect Hospice. When Mum was at the GWH there was a lady from Prospect who fought for a bed for Mum, so that she could spend her last days in the hospice rather than in hospital. This lady you could see really cared for her and went out of her way to make this happen.
The Nurses and Doctors at Prospect took care of Mum and this meant that we as a family were able to spend the last days of her life by her side without any worries at all. They were amazing, nothing was a problem to them, they talked to our Mum as an individual, and not a number. Her room and the facilities were perfect and you could see she relaxed as soon as she was there.
We are doing this walk in memory of our Mum but to raise money for the hospice, so they can keep doing what they are doing, but also to help more and more people and their families at such a difficult time.
