We support people affected by leprosy & LF to overcome the impact of their diagnosis.

Greetings
Thanks for taking the time to visit my sponsorship page!
So I’m going to attempt to run the London Marathon on Sunday 25th April 2010 (the date is burned onto my retinas) and I’d be eternally grateful if you could sponsor me J
Now I know thousands of people will be running the marathon, but I’m going to write this like I’m the only one so I can tug on your heart strings a bit more! Imagine all that training in those f-f-f-freeeeeezing, sludgy, icy conditions...imagine every weekend from now until April 25th having to run a half marathon or more at the weekend....imagine the lycra....imagine NO WINE*!! The only positive is that I am going to a wedding the weekend after so hopefully I shall be a skinny Minnie (albeit with no nips or toe-nails!). Surely all this is worth a few pennies?! I’ll need the thought of your support to keep me going when I’m crawling across Tower Bridge on my hands and knees!
Seriously though, I am running on behalf of a charity called Lepra – who fight diseases of poverty including Leprosy, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and other health conditions exacerbated by poverty, discrimination and stigma. Not only do I think they carry out some extremely important work, working directly with individuals and communities affected, but I also think it’s really important to support a smaller charity – where the money raised here can make a real difference to the total amount they raise all year. To find out more about them, visit http://www.leprahealthinaction.org/. I know I sound a bit like Lenny Henry now, but your sponsorship really will make a difference.
Thanks for reading all this and if you’re about to sponsor me, then a MASSIVE thank you!
