Pathway Project

DOMESTIC ABUSE....... It certainly isn't prejudice!!!! Doctor, nurse, solicitor, hairdresser, bar worker or benefit claimer......, rich, poor, young, old, fat or thin..... It doesn't really matter and unfortunately probably never will, domestic abuse will affect at least 1 in 4  women in their life..... Personally i think it's more like 1 in 3! 

That's why Pathway project will always have my heart! As an organisation we have helped change the lives of hundreds (and over the years I guess  thousands) of women and children who have been effected by Domestic abuse. Be it by accessing our 24 hour helpline that was initially set up in the bedroom of our fabulous director Kathy Coe, to moving in to one of our refuges, to seeing a member of our outreach team in the community or accessing one of our many support groups..... The support that is offered is endless! 

As a support worker in a refuge that is able to accommodate up to 14 families at a time I have the honour and privilege to be a part of their journey! I promise you now from the bottom of my heart you will never ever meet a braver woman than a Woman who has left her home, belongings and family behind in the hope of starting a life free from abuse and harm. Could you do it??? Leave familiarity, routine, security??? 

I am so so so proud of our organisation...... As a charity we rely on fund raising and the generosity of guys like you. I'm sure now by reading this you have a picture of someone in your mind.... Honour that person!

So I'm gonna dig deep and run this half marathon in honour of all the people who have touched my heart! You beautiful angels who get to learn to fly!
