My name is Bramble and my brother Teddy and I are well cared for donkeys. But unfortunately some of our cousins are not so well cared for and need help from The Donkey Sanctuary. In there are approximately 1.85 million donkeys who work alongside some of the poorest people in Indian society as labourers carrying bricks, sand and other heavy supplies. The donkeys are often overworked and overloaded, the harness rarely fits and some donkeys end up working constantly with open sores!

The Donkey Sanctuary is working to improve the conditions for these donkeys by providing routine veterinary care and working with owners to educate them into providing a better life for them whilst still being able to earn enough money to support their families. Its a win win situation.

Our owner Kelly has decided to embark upon a sponsored trek in to raise money and awareness of the work that is being done by the Donkey Sanctuary on a global scale. She is going to trek for 5 days in the Dhauladhar range of mountains in North India from Dharamsala to Kareri Village, Bal, Trund , Laka Got and McCleod Ganj going upto 3,500m altitude, camping along the way! Then a visit to a veterinary hospital and to Gujarat to visit the wild asses from which donkeys are descended.

£6 could pay for an hour of veterinary care to treat an animal and educate its owner.

£10 could buy fly fringes to keep flies out of their eyes and prevent blindness.

£30 could train an animal health worker.
